An expedition from planet Centuria is on its mission to Earth. But due to engine problems the extraterrestrials have to land on the hostile surface of Mars. A team of cosmonauts is sent to help. Not so easy a task as it turns out...
The enthusiastic space opera ENCOUNTER IN SPACE was made during the height of the Soviet space program and in the midst of Cold War heat. The set design in beautiful retro look evokes the times when a better world still seemed to be possible, times of reconciliation and peaceful exploration of space, of humanity and glory.

1924년 r그루지아 공화국 티플리스 출생. 제 2차 세계 대전에 참전한 후, 고향 티플리스에서 연기를 공부하고 1953년에 조르지안 스튜디오 일하기 시작했다. 우주에서의 조우로 데뷔하기 전 다수의 영화에서 연기자로 활동했다.
Born in Tiflis, Georgia in 1924. After he served in World War II, Koberidze studied acting in Tiflis and then started to work at the Georgian studios (Grusinia Film) in 1953 where he acted in dozens of movies before he shot his debut feature Encounter in Space. |

1924년 그루지야의 트빌리시에서 태어남. 2차 세계대전에 참전하여 복무한 후 코베리제는 트빌리시에서 연기를 공부했다. 1953년부터 그루지야 스튜디오에서 일하며 십여 편의 영화에 출연했다. <우주에서의 조우>는 그의 감독 데뷔작품이다.
